Collaboration Opportunities
Find collaborators. Share challenges. Develop ideas together.
Use this if you are looking for collaborators, partners or expertise for a project, challenge or idea.

Do you have a research idea that could benefit from industry input?
A technology you would like to develop with a partner?
Or an industry challenge that academic expertise could help address?
IANA Collaboration Opportunities connects researchers and companies to explore shared interests and develop collaborations with translational potential.
We are launching this initiative as a pilot and invite expressions of interest from IANA members, as well as organisations interested in collaborating with the IANA community.
Have an idea but are unsure how to frame it? Get in touch; we can help you take the first step!

What opportunities can you share?
You can bring forward an early-stage idea, a specific challenge or a project already in development. Opportunities might include:
- Research projects seeking industry expertise or technical input.
- Technologies requiring further development, testing or validation.
- Industry challenges that could benefit from academic research.
- Joint funding applications or collaborative PhD studentships, including CASE partnerships.
- Access to specialist facilities, methods, materials or data.
- Wider research and co-development partnerships.
You do not need a fully developed proposal.
A clear description of your idea, the support you need and the potential value of a collaboration is a useful starting point.

How does it work
1. Tell us about your opportunity
Send the IANA team a short, non-confidential outline of your project or challenge. Explain what you would like to achieve, the expertise or support you are looking for, and any relevant deadlines.
2. Develop a collaboration brief
We will review your outline for fit with IANA’s scope and, where appropriate, work with you to shape a concise Collaboration Opportunity that potential collaborators can readily understand. This will set out:
3. Reach potential partners
Where appropriate, and with your agreement, we can share the opportunity through relevant IANA channels, which may include this website, our newsletter, LinkedIn and existing partner contacts. Where we identify a potential fit, we can also facilitate targeted introductions.
4. Explore the collaboration
Interested organisations or researchers can contact IANA to express interest. We will help make the initial connection so that both parties can discuss their objectives, assess the fit and agree any next steps.

What is IANA’s role?
IANA helps make opportunities visible and brings potential collaborators together. Participation does not guarantee a partner or funding; the scope, commitments and terms of any collaboration are agreed directly between the participating organisations. Sharing an opportunity through IANA does not constitute endorsement of the opportunity or participating organisations. Those involved are responsible for undertaking their own due diligence and agreeing any appropriate institutional, contractual, intellectual property or confidentiality arrangements.
Please share only non-confidential information in your initial submission and in any material intended for circulation.
